IRENE SINOU
Director of documentary films and explorer of the art of live cinema.
As a director, I began with documentary films such as “Welcome Home” and “Rebel for Life” which highlight contemporary social issues.
I branched out from the documentary framework by bringing it into live cinema and immersive video installations. There I find a dynamic form of expression where the audience experiences a less linear type of narration.
For my latest project (Dreams'Box) I mixe intimate voices into a fresco of collective hopes and fears of communities around Europe. During live performances, moving images, visual textures and sounds combine in real time, offering a unique experience for the audience.
My skill in documentary creation combine with a practice of live cinema enables me to push the framework of traditional documentary cinema.
